Tiny Bird's Big Blog Sale!

Sorry everyone, that's everything gone for now! Make sure you follow me on Facebook, Twitter or my blog to be the first to know about my next blog sale!

I have a LOT of clothes, like a ridiculous amount of clothes. I keep buying more and forget about the clothes I already have. So it's time to open those wardrobe doors and free the fashion! I'm starting with clothes, but shoes, bags, jewellery, accessories and beauty are all to follow!

How it works:
1. Enjoy a nice leisurely look through the gallery, making a note of any items you'd like.
2. Email me with your shopping list and I'll tally up the cheapest postage & packaging I can.
3. Send your payment to me through Paypal (that's the only payment method I'm accepting folks)
4. Wait patiently for the nice postperson to bring you your exciting package!

You want worldwide shipping? You got it!
You want a larger image? Just ask and you will receive! (by email obvs)
You want the items sent asap? No problem, I'll get it sent within 1-2 days of cleared payment.
You have a question? Feel free to ask! I won't accept returns so I'll let you know anything you need to.
You want to call dibs on any item? It's all first come first served, so get your order in asap!

PS Everything is in UK sizes. To give you a scale to work with, I'm about a 10 generally speaking, although I fluctuate between 8-12 and I'm 5'4". There are some larger sized items which I bought for a baggier fit.

What's In My Handbag?

You may have seen a few of these posts recently, because are asking bloggers "What's In Your Handbag?". Although it's nice to have a nosey into other people's handbags, the real idea is to find out how much we carry in there, and just how much that stuff is worth!

So let's see what what I'm packing!

This is my work/day-to-day bag where I chuck everything (as you can see!), so let's see what it, and its contents would cost to replace:

The big stuff
Juicy Couture Daydreamer handbag = £200
iPad 2 = £429
iPhone 5 (including headphones) = £529
Debenhams Purse (including contents) = £40

Makeup stuff

Revlon comb = £1

Holy smokes! That's a lot more than I thought!

The big items weren't a surprise, but my makeup bag and contents are worth over £150! To be fair, I probably have too much in there anyway, but there's no way I would have guessed at all that.  And the keys are another surprise, but they would cost a lot to replace, especially my car keys and the Yale keys I have.

Have a go at calculating the value of your handbag and its contents and let me know if you're as surprised as me!

A Home Of My Own - My New Home!

After months and months of disappointment (see my previous A Home Of My Own post) I finally have good news! My offer has been accepted on this, my new home:

I had originally put in an offer three weeks ago and had expected to hear back the next day. When there was no word, I called my solicitor who found out that the seller was away so I wouldn't hear until after the weekend.  By the Tuesday noon cut-off point I was stressing out, and when I phoned I was told that the property would be going to a closing date on Thursday because they had received another offer. I gave my best offer and waited. And waited. And waited some more.

Having to chase the agents again, my solicitor told me that the lady dealing with it had gone home for the day! I was RAGING! I had decided that if I had no reply by the end of Friday, I was going to pull my offer. Buying a house is tense and stressful enough and I'm not up for playing games.

My solicitor phoned the agent first thing on Friday and they advised that the client has accepted my offer! Phew! So now my mortgage has been agreed I feel safe enough to blog about it!

It's a cosy wee flat with one bedroom and lots of storage and a few lovely vintage features, most of which I'll try to keep.  It also has an old coal shed and the whole front garden is mine! I've never had a garden of my own before, so I'll have to learn what to do with it!

I don't move in until the end of August, which'll give me some time to save up the rest of my deposit and some money for renovations hopefully! I can't wait!

☆ Flights Of Fancy ☆

Things which have captured my imagination this week...

This image of Tobermory, Isle Of Mull

When I get a bike, I'll be getting these too

These vintage cards

All these totes. Seems I have a thing for yellow totes right now...

If I was married, I'd have these. But I'm not, so I don't.
I love these. They're half price. I still can't afford them. FML.

Currently Crocheting...

...loads of stuff!

I got back into crocheting recently after having a clearout and finding my hooks again. I also thought that now would be a good time to use some of the huge stash of wool I have and hopefully make some money to put towards my new flat!

I started with some hippy hairbands for Blythe dolls...

...continued on with some doll scarves...

...made some more hairbands...

...and lots and lots of hair bows (these ones can be worn by humans too)!

Everything is available at twentythreetwo and I've already had my first order so I'm really chuffed!

♫ Tuesday Tuneage ♫

Time for a new feature me thinks!

Tuneage: Extremely good tunes "Wow, that is some awesome tuneage!"
(Confirmed by Urban Dictionary, although spellcheck isn't quite as up to date!)

So here's the plan: Every Tuesday I'm going to link you up to what I consider to be some awesome music (just one at a time though, I'm not that cool!). And not just from the modern day, but from all of time.

So I'm starting off with this sweet treat: Hey Jealousy by Gin Blossoms

Just A Little Reminder...

If you follow a blog or two (or much more, like I do!), you'll probably be well aware that Google Reader is no more from 1st July 2013. That's only a week away, so that doesn't leave you long to get organised if you aren't already.

If you're not sure what else to use, check out my post from April handily entitled My Chosen Alternative To Google Reader. It might help.

But f course there are lots of ways you can follow Tiny Bird Heart!

You can sign simply input the blog address to your favourite reader, follow via Bloglovin' or get an email straight to your inbox everytime I post! Easy eh?! All the links are in the sidebar, over there , but if you need any help, just let me know.

Follow on Bloglovin

I also update the status on Twitter, Facebook and Google+ every time I post, so you can follow, like or join my circle (is that what you say? Not sure).

I also use these mediums to show pretty pictures and babble about stuff in general, so that's another good reason to do it. And, for the triple whammy, you use any of these things to get in touch with me! Come and say hi, I'm properly approachable :)

And finally, you can "Join This Site" though Google Friend Connect right there in the sidebar too. GFC isn't going anywhere, not yet at least.

Hope that's been straightforward enough, if not get in touch and I'll give you a helping hand!

PS I'll be doing a lovely giveaway shortly too, so keep your eyes peeled on any of the above  and you'll be the first to get the deets!

♥ This Week's Loves ♥

1. I went to the secret screening at Cineworld and, although it wasn't Thor, I really enjoyed Now You See Me.

2. I bit the bullet and joined the gym this week. I go through phases on going, usually when I feel I need it, and when I'm in the mood I love it.  Plus they have a deal on just now, a rolling £20 a month for their peak membership. Unfortunately the mood only lasts a few months!

3. I've also been taking advantage of my craving for salads. People always moan about the weather but I think we're doing pretty well so far, and sunny weather always makes me eat healthier.

4. I bought my tickets for New York Comic Con! Soooo excited! It's my first time, so if you're going too or have any tips, let me know!

5. I love older films at the weekend, and this weekend The 'Burbs was on, which never gets old, and Sweet Home Alabama. Mmm..Josh Lucas!

6. I've started crocheting again this week and I made some hair bands for Blythe dolls and I'm in the process of making hair bows for Blythes and humans alike! It's really relaxing, although my arms a bit dead today!

7. What a week for films it's been! My weekend cinema jaunt included Despicable Me 2, which was bound to be good (I want a minion all of my own!)...

8. ...and World War Z, which some people haven't enjoyed so much, but I did.  The cinema was deadly quiet with anticipation at the appropriate parts!

9. I've been saving my pennies recently for a new flat, but I decided to treat myself to Walter from the Disney Store.  Look at that face, who could resist! He's also a great model for my crocheted bows! :D

Tell me about your week? What have you loved?

☆ Flights Of Fancy ☆

Things which have captured my imagination this week...

If I could have any doll in the world, it'd be a Roguedoll. They amaze me!

I basically want everything from Laissez Lucie Faire, but I definitely need some of these cushions for my new flat!

I might need this too!

 These funky Louboutins

I want my hair like this! Has anyone used hair chalks on dark hair?

Aarrgghh, so much cute...can't breathe...heart hurts! These best friends have made my day!

Review: Everything Tablet iPad 360 Case

This item was sent to me for review purposes and what follows are my honest opinions and thoughts on the product.

When I bought my iPad I went with the official Apple Smart Case but, although it covered the screen and worked well as a stand, I didn't feel it offered much protection. I'd just spend hundreds of pounds on this piece of kit, so I wanted to keep my new baby safe!

I then bought a lovely zip case that I spotted in Next sale and my problems were solved. Although they weren't really because it was difficult to get it to stand up at the right angle without taking it out of the case.

So, when I heard about the new 360 PU Leather Case from Everything Tablet, I couldn't wait to try it out! I use my iPad a lot, mainly for emails, social stuff and the internet, but also for work, so I need a case that'll protect it and let me use it in the way I want, but also look professional.

What they say:

"The 360o rotary case is our top of the range protective case for iPad, made from high quality PU leather with a soft microfibre inner lining. This unique design offers full-screen showcasing, easy port access and three different viewing angles.

"This versatile iPad case acts as a complete second screen experience. Whether watching movies and youtube clips or reading news and documents, this is the perfect accessory.

"If you are looking for all-round protection without compromise, look no further than the iPad 360o case."

What I say:

For starters, it looks good. It comes in a range of colours (I chose baby blue), and straight away it feels like a quality product.

The PU leather is thick and the iPad just clicks into the plastic base which fits well and feels sturdy. It has cutout sections which allow the user to access the power button, headphone socket, volume controls, charging port, camera and speaker.

The inside cover is a soft, almost moleskin type fabric which, when closed, put the iPad into sleep mode. There's also an elastic strap which keeps everything snuggly closed.

There are three ridges within the cover which allow you to pick your viewing angle.

I mostly use my iPad in landscape mode, just because I find it easier to view web pages and I like to have my list of emails at the side when I view them.  But, as it says, this product is 360!

It is essentially two parts, joined by a disc, which allows you to rotate the sections and view your iPad in a portrait view.

So, basically, I think this is a great product. It's a cover and stand in one, which doesn't compromise either of those functions. I use my iPad on the move a lot and felt safe shoving it in my handbag with all the other contents.

I can't see any downsides, although I'd point out that in portrait it won't balance on the first position, but it's fine in second and third.  That's not a bad thing, it's just gravity.

This case retails for £29.99, but is currently available for £24.99 at

Thrifty Finds

I got up nice and early this weekend to get my thrift on before the cinema and it was a glorious day! The sun was shining and, surprisingly, the car boot sale I went to wasn't as busy as it usually is on a day like this, which just means more space for me!

First up, the annuals. I don't know anyone in the UK that hasn't seen Neighbours. At school we were all infatuated with it and they even showed it in my school canteen at lunchtimes. And who doesn't remember Mrs Mangle, Bouncer and of course Scott and Charlene's wedding? Oh, the memories!

The TV Comic one is also funny, it's full of old comic strips including Bugs Bunny, Popeye, Ken Dodd's Diddymen, Doctor Who and Laurel & Hardy! (You'll find all these vintage books and more in my Whimsy shop)

More Enid Blyton books for my collection...

 ..and more Marvel films too!

I got all these Scarlet Spider comics for only £1. That's got to be the bargain of the day!

I bought this bag of assorted wool for a pound too.  I've got some ideas what to do with it and I hope to get started on them soon!

I've seen these Lindt bunnies in shops at Easter for two years running and really wanted one but I couldn't justify spending £10 or whatever on one. So I had to snap him up too!

I spotted this mystery box on someone's table and had to have a peak.

Turns out it contains six really cute Win-El-Ware coasters! So I'll be keeping these for my new home!

What goodies have you found on your thrifting trips this week?  Let me know!
